After the excitement of big national races, it's common to feel a dip in motivation. But remember, you're not alone in this journey!
Rejuvenating Your Motivation
If you've just finished a race, consider a lighter training block to rediscover your love for running. Focus on shorter, less intensive sessions to prioritize rest and recovery. Elite athletes also take well-deserved breaks post-competition, so it's okay to give yourself that time.
During the off-season, address any training gaps or weaknesses you've noticed. Shift your focus from mileage and intensity to other aspects of your fitness. Embrace this change as a refreshing break from your usual routine.
Setting New Goals
If you're unsure about your next race, set new goals to stay motivated. Whether it's improving your 5km time, running a whole Parkrun, or simply increasing your distance, having a goal will keep you accountable and driven. Remember, accomplishments, big or small, boost your confidence and keep you moving forward!
Your success is only limited by your own goals. So dream big!
